The New Year Music Festival in Gstaad takes place in some of the most natural, spectacular and delicate countryside of the Swiss Alps. GstaadNewYear

Throughout our events, we aim to bring together music, environmental and humanitarian causes. Beethoven loved nature – so bringing our music into the celebration of the great composer’s 250th anniversary and the Beethoven Pastoral Project is an act of dedication and intent for the future of our planet.

Starting with Beethoven2020 on New Year’s Day and throughout the Gstaad festival, the celebrations will continue in Venice later in the year.

The link above shows the outline programme for Opus 14 of the New Year Music Festival in Gstaad and there is an EXTRA recital in Fribourg in the final festival week –

Bonn 2020

Ludwig van Beethoven was born on December 16th, 1770 in Bonn. In 2020, Germany and the entire world will celebrate the 250th anniversary of his birth. The Federal Republic of Germany, the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, the Rhine-Sieg District and the Federal City of Bonn have joined forces to establish the Beethoven Jubiläums Gesellschaft mbH, which, under the auspices of the BTHVN2020 brand, will coordinate and communicate this important anniversary.

UN Climate Change, with its secretariat in Bonn, is responsible for coordinating international efforts to address climate change in support of the Sustainable Development Goals and the UN’s 2030 Agenda.

A big year approaches: In 2020, the world will celebrate Beethoven’s 250th birthday.

When Beethoven is honoured around the world in 2020, Bonn – a city that stands for Beethoven like no other place in the world – is certain to play a major role in the festivities. In 2027, the 200th anniversary of Beethoven’s death, Vienna will also take center stage as the city where Beethoven lived, worked and later died.

Princess Caroline Murat (Caroline Haffner) and the New Year Music Festival in Gstaad are partners of Bonn2020 and the UN’s Beethoven Pastoral Project.
